As Salon owner or manager the day to day responsibility for health and Safety will probably lie with you.  If you are part of a franchise, you may have a formal written procedure to follow and comply with.

Each salon should have taken administrative measures to meet its individual health and safety needs and requirements.   Remember, risk assessment is task and individual specific and what may work well enough in one salon or area, may not work elsewhere.  This could be due to location, layout of salon, equipment being used, experience of staff, supervisory requirements etc.
